Recovery from my distraction
Yesterday, I went to a community meeting. A new sensation, after many months away from public gatherings. And, distracted, I left half of my coat (the outer shell) hanging on my chair… along with all of my identification and financial plastic. In a larger place, that might provoke panic. Here, not so much.
Via FB, I sent a message to the local contact person at the community centre. Within minutes (remember, this was late in the evening), a reply; my coat had been noticed, recovered and hung on a hook. All I had to do was show up at opening time. Which I did, and my life is now back to normal. See! Just a minor moment.
I’m back into that paralysis provoked by a kidney stone. OK, not exactly paralysed. I can move, if I concentrate through the discomfort. I’ll drink plenty of fluids, avoid long staircase climbs and ignore the dog’s desire to go in-and-out-and-in again where possible.
Via social media, I learned that my fancy plastic frame for negative copying has been upgraded. At a price, of course. Can’t expect small business to carry the load. I had the original order details, from back in the summer, and now my new package of parts has been ordered. It will take weeks for things to arrive, but my timetable is very fluid. The negatives have been on hold for the last few decades, so a few more evenings won’t really matter. Gives me time to prepare a workspace. Or something. I will take this one day at a time, and those who fear my old photos can relax.
