Behind my brand new door
When I first decided that having my own domain name might be worthwhile, it seemed like a whim. I mean, very few individuals were bothering with what seemed to be the ultimate in ego driven activity. Today, I renewed two of them, for another three years, and took note that my domain has been active (on a daily basis) for more than fifteen years. A worthwhile investment, in retrospect.
There are still only a few individuals that have bothered; it’s a geeky thing, I admit. But if I had relied on some of the more public sites, I’d have been without a “home”, over and over again.
Like most of my cohort, we care about politics. Today, when the head of the CPC announced that he does NOT want a general election, I did a little happy dance. Unlike some of the more outspoken representatives of his clan, he has seen the poll numbers. Right now, trying the patience of the electorate might turn sour. Want to see the party doomed to a generation in the forgotten section of Ottawa? It would be so easy!
My area in the basement now has a door! Not handle; we need to send in an order to the hardware store in the city, but the door swings, and doesn’t have a “mind of its own”. All good. As well, the shelving under the stairs is in place, and I’m ready to mock up things in an iPad app (just for fun). The project is, obviously, a long term affair. I have to salute the waypoints. Some day, we’ll look back and wonder what it was like to have an empty half-house.
