Big biscuits are better

posted in pets |

A short newspaper story told me more than I wanted to know. There’s a new government program underway to improve internet speeds, and the applications for the extra money have to be filed by the end of December. The article even took the time to enumerate the firms involved. Great! Except that none operate in my immediate area, and none have approached me as a potential customer. I don’t need to have things written in colour – not even crayon. Once again, I have to accept that I live too far from the focus of the market. Elon, if you’re listening…

We had another lovely day, with the temperature reaching 16C. Summer weather in the fall. It can’t last. I guess I should fix the zipper on my parka, before I need full body coverage.

We had nobody in the drive, today, unless you count the fox kids. Hey (we think there are still three, after the great purge), the dog seems happy to see someone/something other than me. I’ve watched the interaction: a bit of barking, some half-hearted lunges, a few minutes of lying on the ground, preening, before coming to the door to get back inside to his couch and his bed. After all, the biscuit box is in the kitchen. Speaking of which, my turning on the coffee machine seems to trigger him; get close to the bounty-zone, and maybe he’ll score some cookies. He’s even choosy; the big ones are better than the “other size”. Just like a real kid. I will have to buy another carton, on the next visit to civilization.
