Stir before shake

posted in environment |

With my schedule, I find new and interesting ways to fill up the hours of the day. This morning, early, I began listing all the people in my class, from a half century ago. Doing well, although I will need to look at some old photos to decide if my memory is exhaustive. Oh, yes, the photos… part of another project.

Well, I did receive an order from Amazon, today, which should have contained a missing bolt for the negative scanner. And, the box came. Overly large, and filled with my stuff (plus those silly pillow-balloons that now replace Styrofoam peanuts). Anyhow, the box contained one of the two items. I called up my order, online, and did a deep dive into how you report things that are MIA; you can’t. You have to wait, in case.

I went back over my steps, and made sure that the order was short. Checked inside the knapsack (part one of my order) to try and find a set of bolts (part two of my order). As well, I took great pleasure in deflating my pillow-balloon collection. No joy. The bolts would require more work.

Now, I had opened the large box in the garage, where I keep my bags of recycled things, and on a whim I decided to repack the blue bag. I moved all of the empty milk and juice containers (into my now available Amazon carton). And how about that? At the bottom of the blue bag, a small package containing my bolts. Recycled, even before checking that they were the right size!

Note to me: don’t shake the cartons. Look inside and verify. Saves all sorts of embarrassment.
