Eat dots AND ghosts, in the maze
I do believe that it takes a village to raise a child. We’re doing our part. When the blue-eyed hound from yesterday came back, it brought the rest of its “pack”; twins, as a plus. And since young children don’t accept the hospitality of folks, just because we’re old enough to be surrogate grandparents, they came ready to play. We have computers, and they have the mindset.
Now, the afternoon (for me) was spent with the sound effects of PacMan. We’re evolved from that time when it required a sack of quarters to get ahead. Now, the big screen TV offers a version that contains the same never-ending game play. Around and around the maze we go. I didn’t master the strategy, back when my coins were in short supply. I won’t master it now, due to a distinct lack of desire. However, one of the kids has figured out that there has to be a better way to get ahead, and I took the time to search for a strategy handbook… now worth more than its weight in nickels and dimes.
As well, the sound effects kept me awake, so I plodded ahead on laptop recovery. I am making solid progress. The drivers are all installed, and my main software packages are up and running. See; I have returned to the familiar Word interface, for my words (hey, it counts things as I type). Ditto for my photos and ebooks. All good. If I can recover my password file, I can get on with my day-to-day. It’s funny how having a functional computer is now an essential.
