Subtitles require enhanced attention
On TV, a police drama. In Danish, with subtitles. For the record, my brain hasn’t managed to change the audio track into something I understand. Reading subtitles means not doing other things (like reading things on my tablet). The productivity level has dropped, accordingly.
At least, there’s some new music, so I can harness the power of Shazam to get the what and who.
This is a holiday, here in Canada. To my surprise, we had visitors (my senior relatives, in this area). Totally unexpected.
Elsewhere… is there an elsewhere? After four months in captivity, I have forgotten that there’s an outside world. Imagine. My year on a small island (not this one), ages ago, prepared me for some of this, but when we get back to “normal”, I will have to learn to shop and visit places. When CBC mentioned that we might go for another calendar year in the staycation mode, it didn’t shock me.
Overnight, we had rain AND a power outage. The rain is important: since midnight, we received an equivalent amount to the whole of the month of June. We’ll see what the rest of the week will bring. Some happy farmers, I imagine.
As of today, the local fishers are hauling gear (even with another three days of permission to harvest). I guess they’re tired of their truncated season, and want to get on to the next chapter.
And, the “bubble” begins, day after tomorrow. Tourists, on a limited scale. Hey, maybe we should go camping, and pretend that we are happy to be here (we are, but that’s a detail).
