A power box as a powerful box

posted in ham radio |

Welcome to warmer weather. Right now, it’s 25C, inside and out. The “chiller” has been switched to the run position, and my chair is under a curtain of cold air. Now we wait for the rest of the house to catch up. Sleep comes quickly when we aren’t confusing the mattress with a sunny afternoon at the beach.

While I await my new battery, and plan out the initial wiring harness, I’m also scrolling through the various forums and watching associated videos. Apparently what I really need is a “battery box”. A fancy one, with fuses and lights and tiny switches and various binding posts and… so many possibilities. I don’t want to invest my savings in a utility box, but I don’t want to build it twice. Time for some serious analysis. What do I need vs what do I want vs what can I afford. Should keep me busy for a bit. And from that article I read this evening from a national newspaper, the post office isn’t going to get rid of their backlog any time soon.

Our provincial state of emergency has been extended for (at least) another two weeks, but the restaurant ads are filling my social media stream. I admit, it would be wonderful to drop into a fine establishment that not only served me a tasty meal, but took care of the dishes as well. Soon. A bigger deal is that the decision to “open our borders” seems to be going ahead, despite the public outcry. I notice that the rates of new infections haven’t slowed, but I can continue to avoid everyone.
