Local changes
A change in routine! The dog and I were tasked with recovering a rascal (rogue, actually) from the local garage. And, a few things have changed since my last stroll outside.
The snow is gone. I mean, except for some small masses under the tree cover, but that’s just a detail. At the garage, the door was locked to the public, and I had to ask to enter. This is the country, and the whole bill wasn’t yet prepared, but I did pay for a full set of tires. Contracted last fall, delivered this spring, with the rims kept in storage until now. Never had that level of service, back in the big city. The car seems ready for the annual inspection at the end of this month, unless something else wears out. All good.
I went to refuel. Shock at the register: with a litre of gasoline now worth $0.70, I haven’t paid something that low since… I can’t remember the last time, but I might have been in high school. Who am I trying to kid? I didn’t buy fuel at that age. I used the provided hand sanitizer, and authorized the payment with “tap”. A whole new world, in the last few months.
Back home, I did move the winter tires into the garage, which means that we now have the full space in the car. We’re not going anyplace, soon, but it seems normal. Meanwhile, HB is off mining sea glass at a local beach. Each to their own. I’m happy to coddle a café and listen to classic rock on the radio.
