Germ avoidance
Remind me, again, why I don’t want to travel with a crowd. Oh, right; contagion. I’m not a germophobe, but I do realize that evolution plays a role. Bugs are getting better, while the rest of us are simply careless. Imagine finding yourself in an airplane, with fourteen confirmed cases of the latest, after the “smartest” leader mandated that there was no reason to quarantine anybody from anything. Or how about finding yourself on an ocean cruise with an outbreak of something serious. You can’t get off and walk home. I’m going to continue my life as an erstwhile hermit for the foreseeable future.
What I should do is get busy and try out some new radio tricks. Satellites are high on my list. Also that new SDR. And decoding neat stuff: spies, weather, whatever. I can stay distracted for the rest of the winter, easily.
I do keep an eye on the stupid ideas of the political class. What with the blockades, and the large scale educational strikes, and the innate ability of the petroleum industry to avoid grift… so much to distract me. The gang that wants to go big into new oil sand exploration. However, times are bad, and the newest plan is to write the unearned income off against other taxes that might be owed. In other words, we are going to pay their bills, in one sense or another. I mustn’t get angry. I mustn’t get angry.
Going forward, I’m starting to plan for the spring travel season. Time goes by, quickly.
