A small (bright) light

posted in humour |

In my utility drawer, I keep a couple of small flashlights. MagLites, for those who need to know the details. One has a “standard lamp” and no longer works. The other has the LED upgrade, and works just fine. Yes, I happened to look at the beam, and my vision took a sudden downturn (seems better now). I guess I’m going to replace the broken light with something that illuminates. After all, you never know when the need to see in the dark will suddenly be an issue.

This afternoon, I learned that one of my siblings has mutated into a snowbird, and I’m perplexed. Should I be watching for signs that this is a hereditary thing, and I’m just not there yet? Should I plan to visit (seems like a long way to go to avoid a little snow)? Or should I wait for a post card?

Tried another tack to reactivate my bricked synth. Did not work. Plan C will involve removing the batteries and waiting for better weather. This is not my only synth, so I’m holding off on the grief phase.

Which could take a while… latest forecast shows the strong possibility for snow by the weekend. Lots of snow. If ever there was a moment to get my wings and wander south, it would be now. Actually, robins have been reported in this area, which is a sign that even the birds are confused. After watching the video of someone rescuing a dove that had got frozen into the snow, I no longer trust our avian neighbours to show judgement. What’s next?
