Countdown
Had a chance to test drive the Apple Stylus today. The short version: new gear does not come with artistic talent as a sidebar. I see the implications, but I won’t be adding one to my toy box.
With that, I actually hit the retail district for my last minute shopping needs. Fifty years can change a city, and this one has devolved. Too many small shops selling products that fit the marginal needs of a marginal society. And the panhandlers left me surprised. That used to be a detail for places I wouldn’t choose to live.
But, I didn’t come all this way to observe socioeconomic parameters. This is family time, and I spent the rest of the day with extended family, in a beautiful house. Not my first visit, but the mansion is elegant. We had food preps in the oversized kitchen, and family circles in other areas of the house. Small children dancing. Older children partying like it was 1999. Me, just sitting and enjoying the show.
Simple question: where do they find the energy to continue such frenetic pace for hours. And just when you believe they are done and ready to sleep, how do they start all over again? Asking for friends.
The dog wasn’t allowed inside, so like out last visit, I placed him in the shelter of the car, and made frequent visits to reassure his spirit and warm the habitacle. No complaints registered. Sometime, late, we loaded ourselves into the car and returned to see if Santa Claus also rewards caring adults. I mean, Christmas miracle is a thing, right?
