Might be winter, soon
I swear, there were little bits of white stuff falling from the sky this afternoon. The dog can corroborate; he trapped some in his fur. As soon as he came inside, all the evidence disappeared. Magically, as if some strange force of physics was in play.
I checked; the Wiki editors refer to this as “evaporation”. I’ll stick with the magical explanation, for now. In other news, the winter tires are now swapped into place on the car, and since our summer set are “worn to the bone”, we’ll have to get something new before next spring. Lots of time. OK, not enough for me to grow rubber in the garage and learn how to build a tire, but I’m sure there are stores that can furnish my needs. Someone mentioned “Canny Tire”, so I’ll look in the Yellow Pages and see if there is any firm with a name like that in my area.
Wait. You don’t remember Yellow Pages. They were so useful, back when Google didn’t provide answers to everything. Just reading through the categories was an education in the needs of the population. And you pick up the phone, and with a few spins of the dial, get in touch with people who knew things. None of the “Push 1 for …” silliness. I miss those times.
Went out for a drive with the dog, this afternoon. A friend has just received a new house, but I have no idea where it was delivered. Should be easy to spot, what with the roof on back order. Anyhow, I’ll try to get better clues before my next ride up and down the road.
