Irving and a green ad

posted in economy, media |

Just spotted an Irving Oil advertisement on local TV, which had the pump attendant replacing the hamster supply in the motor. Wish I’d thought of that one.

We sit through hours of advertisements per week; when was the last time that one made you want to do anything other than search out the remote control? Now, Philips has been issued a patent that would prevent the couch pilot from changing channels during commercials. That is just plain wrong. Time to replace the patent office with some folks that haven’t lost touch with reality.

Intellectual property is fine, as long as the rest of us are allowed to consume it at fair market value, rather than under lunatic protection terms set by the state.
