Out to eat
Imagine that; today, driven by the novelty of having visitors, I actually went “out” for lunch. Into town, to a local café where I sat out and had a meal. Traditional fare, really. OK, a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon. But it was good, and it was novel. With the drop in temperature, the dog was able to stay in the car without the animal welfare police raiding, and I was able to pretend that I had a normal life.
I know, having an animal around is a choice. And we like our animal. It’s just that for much of the better months, he wins and we stay home.
Moving forward. As I said, visitors. New people, with similar interests. We could have talked into the late hours, but I’m too old for that. Maybe tomorrow, if their travel plans don’t start with a departure. Once they’re gone, we’re back to the usual suspects around the table, and we already know all the jokes.
I’m trying to think if anything else noteworthy happened. Our basement renos continue, with today being the first time that we left the house “available for work” while we did other things. I’ll see if we can extend this into, say, a trip to the city. Be nice to see the world before winter.
In the local excitement, I spotted a photo of a very famous actress, on Twitter. What made it of note is that the photo was taken at a local restaurant, near where her brother lives. No, where might that be? Have to ask around.
