The faint drone (of a drone)
Today, we had clear skies, with a slight overflight of drone. Or visitors had two buzzy camera-carriers in their luggage, and so without hesitation I gave the go-ahead for an unobstructed overview of the place. The last time we had access to similar technology was back in 2015, and there have been a few improvements in the interim. A lawn, a real driveway, a fire pit. It all adds up.
I’ve watched the harvested video footage, and there is a faint promise of a personal copy, so all is good.
My time spent playing Tetris (and that other app where you put boxes from one room to another: Sokoban) came into value this afternoon. I had to rebuild a king-size bed in the available space in the basement. I did. No rushing; flipping was the key to the puzzle. Now son #1 will have a real platform for sleep, when he arrives from his round-the-Gaspe voyage this evening. Son #2 already has a reservation on the hide-in-the-wall bed. In our kitchen, the others have gone out to test local fare, but the dog and I have other projects.
My desire to test the “genny” in the RV has been satiated. It started, without hesitation, ran steadily and then shut down when I pushed the big button. Good to know, after months of avoiding the question. Eventually, I’ll need a propane top-up. The fresh water tank is overflowing, so we’re set for midnight bowls of water for the dog. As well, the RV bed (our bed) is folded away, the better to show off the interior to others. Don’t worry; the return to prone is only a matter of minutes.
