Shifting the timeline into overdrive
From today’s “keep me guessing” page: We’re hoping to renovate the basement, before the end of this century. Given that we’ve made zero progress in the last four years, my time estimate seems realistic. Anyhow, on a whim, I pulled up the phone number of a local electrician, and called. Got a ringback machine. The story of my life.
Except, when the phone rang about twenty minutes later, with a real human on the other end, and I had to suddenly rethink things. The electrician took my coordinates and a short task list, and then mentioned (nonchalantly) that he’d be over within the hour to take a look. And here’s the kicker; he was. We had a very down to earth walkabout, while he looked at the installations already in place. And then, he agreed to take on our job!
He’s also going to phone the HVAC guy, to get related information and give a subtle prod. Am I dreaming?
Why stop when things are going so well. We texted our contractor, and he came over shortly afterwards, with his father. Proof that this is actually going to happen (because father?). Work could start next week.
We had to go out to get some supper fixings, and the hardware store was right there. In to see what could be purchased locally for the shower cabinet, the owner came back to meet with us, tie our family threads together and work through how prices were displayed. I think we now have a suitable setting to get the bathroom completed, as well. Colour me confused, with hues of happy. I mean, no nails have been bent, yet, but they will be.
