Visiting the local falls
Our long ride, yesterday, served to remind us. This is not a sprint. Better to register for another night and spend today in exploration. Create a few memories, etc.
Now, Wiki confirmed that Twin Falls celebrated a local landmark. Without guidance beyond that of the GPS, we found an Argentinian restaurant, for a fine meal of empanadas, before heading to a daypark with lots of parking. There, we met someone with a similar rig, and did some comparison visiting. I learned a bit more about the positive points of increasing our solar array.
The Shoshone Falls site is first, an electrical generation complex and second, a chance for tourists to roam the walkways and take lots of photos without risk of death by rapid descent. I learned that Evel Knievel jumped the Snake River Canyon, here, in 1974. Yes, he succeeded. Yes, he survived. The story in quick terms. On a more personal level, the sound of the falls is very soothing. Worth the $5 entry fee.
Tourist duties completed, we decided to do some shopping for things not available at home. In my case, a knock-off Pelican case from Harbor Freight Tools. At a glance, the quality is good and the pricing is great. It may yet protect a transceiver during long trips by RV.
We also decided to try some “famous American cuisine”, after choosing Jack In The Box from a long list. Good, not great, but I need to know that before using the location in any modern day novel set in the Heartland.
