Gaming my ads
More proof that I have too much time on my hands: I’ve started “gaming” the Amazon ads that seem to fill my social media pages. Yesterday, I looked at toaster descriptions; today, toast at every turn. Next thing to see is how long an iteration takes. Perhaps I want to buy something less domestic, next round.
This morning, after the showers slowed, I did another genny test. No change, so I sent off an email to the dealer, and had a reply before my coffee was done. I might have a blown fuse in the system, and he’ll stop in to see. Either soon, or before hurricane season. That’s what matters.
Carbon taxes kicked in, today, for much of the country. Locally, an upward tick of a few pennies on the overall gasoline price. Actually, much the same thing in other jurisdictions, but to read the commentary in various press sites, you’d think it was a firm sign of the Apocalypse. Hey, do you realize that this might be the only thing between you and the “big show”? I can afford those pennies, as can most people, and shouting at the political figureheads won’t change the intention.
Our community group is gearing up for another season, which means trying to find staff for two sites. The available personpower, here in the country, is very limited; we go through this each year. Here’s an idea: call some of the past staff and get them to recommend the positions to a friend. Often, people just don’t know that decent (interesting) jobs are close at hand. Sure, you won’t become financially independent on summer wages, but think of the fun you can have, meeting tourists from around the world.
