Under watch, by the coast guard

posted in technology |

I’m going out on a limb here, and deciding that not every idea “as seen in a dream sequence” is practical. Imagine a drum kit, where the individual drums are supported at the correct placing by lengths of pipe. When one section of the frame didn’t make it into the load out truck, the band decided to use the younger brother of the drummer to sit on the floor and serve as a makeshift replacement. He went quite deaf from the effort, and I awoke before discovering if this turned into a permanent defect. Perhaps I’ll get the rest of the story later on tonight. This might be a side effect of my medications, as I don’t have a brother.

Just offshore, the Coast Guard moored an ice breaker, earlier today. The “CCGS Captain Molly Kool” which is a name given in honour of a real person who died in 2009. The government christened the ship (which I have kept in view all afternoon) just last year. There, marine trivia. I am really intrigued about the level of cruise comfort, and will attempt to find photos over the next few days, since their captain hasn’t send us an invitation to “come aboard”.

Inquiring minds want to know: why are we (Canadian Government services) spending $350K on homeopathic  methods in  Honduras? Not even for Kool-Ade… Kook-Aid. I hate when good money is thrown into “solving” situations in such non-realistic manners.  Is it something in the water? In Ottawa, I mean. The rest of the nation, generally, knows better. To subject other countries to stupid stuff we wouldn’t allow at home is wrong.
