In anticipation

posted in environment |

Filled with the certitude that my delivery was due today, I couldn’t very well just go back to sleep. Instead, I kicked the dog off my legs, and began a full day of domestic activity. The dishes. The vacuuming. The pile of laundry. Recycling. All done, before lunch time.

I then sat comfortably and waited. And waited. Napped while sitting. Responded to the dog wanting to go out, and in, and out. Mainly I waited. And sometime late in the afternoon, I received my update via the web. The parcel was delivered… to my mailbox.

I may have a lead on a CO2 cylinder. Turns out that one of our kids has a tank that he doesn’t use, and it is available for pickup. Now, how to convince the rest of the family to make a road trip out of this?

Oh, right. CO2 is used to recharge the tiny bottles that we use to make our new calorie free beverage, aka known as bubbly water. Rather than paying a recharge fee, I can equip myself for long term capability; buy the required pressure regulator from a web site, get some cheap air in the city, profit. This is not going to happen overnight (see the need for a road trip, above), but I feel an air of progress. Just think, froth on demand. I could even get into paintball, if I want.

A tragic headline, from CBC. A pet, left alone in the house for two months has starved to death. For those with companion animals, we know how this normally plays out. Try not feeding the dog for an afternoon…
