Perfect timing
Perfect timing! The snow started to fall around daylight, moving us from a hative springtime, into a traditionally dressed white Christmas. No big deal; this was just a cosmetic cover, but I’m posting two images that have only one day between them. A new world.
We’re into the quiet time now, as if our holiday was anything else. With the rest of the family elsewhere, and with a long winter ahead, punctuated with moments that could be good or bad, I’m willing to share that I am living in the moment. We didn’t abuse ourselves, economically. Health is much the same as at this point a year ago. Or two years ago. In truth, life is playing on a level field right now.
Checked in with the kids, via social media. Checked in with my parent and siblings, by old-school landline followed by social media. No roads taken. In fact, one video of someone traveling along a major divided highway, but in the wrong direction, serves as a reminder that I’m really lucky I can sleep so easily while in ballast/passenger mode.
And so, how was your day? Any cool gifts? Any surprise visits? Don’t fret about telling me: these are your moments. If you care to send a postcard, get it in the mail before the cost of a stamp rises in three week’s time. Just out of interest, what business plan says “raise the prices, when our user levels are in sharp decline”? Only the postal people can apply such a strategy in the real world. I guess having a long history instills confidence.
