A massage and a comfortable bed

posted in economy |

As someone with big dreams on a limited budget, I “get” my kicks with the help of the ‘Net. Simply put, I shop online, trying to find the best match for quality and price. I can easily pass a quiet evening surfing and looking at what the shops would sell me, if only they could. So, imagine the excitement, when I learned that son #2 was in the market for a new TV.

Very particular specs, and the price point would be softened by fund injection from those closest to him. Off I went. In a short while, I’d found what looked like a great deal. Of course, I contacted him, to make sure I wasn’t chasing my own tail… and I was. His response: “Oh,  I bought one last night”. Emoji that one, if you will.

Speaking of a tail, the dog isn’t chasing his, today. I don’t know where he went, or what he did, but he’s feeling his age. Stiff joints. A reluctance to beg for cheese. Not his usual demeanor.  We have a heating pad, and he seems to relish the soothing action as he lays there, avoiding all near occasions to exercise. With luck, he’ll be “better in the morning”, as I offer massage and a comfortable bed (yes, my bed).

I learned that one of our large, local hotels has been bought by the Marriott change. In unrelated news, the Mariott chain has just revealed that they were victims of a substantial hack, which picked up thousands of customer records.  Poor way to advertise your wares, guys.
