More subsystem exercise
In the absence of a mentor, we’ve been learning about the various subsystems in the RV via the time tested technique of trial and error. Hopefully, we can reduce the errors while parked close to home, allowing on the road adventure time to be used for better things.
Today, more discovery of the media system. In the dash cubby, there were many, many cables. Without labels, just cables that might do something. Now, I think I’ve decoded the symbols. I found the right connection for the iToys (crucial to our comfort). I can declare which dongle provides Bluetooth connectivity (the logo was hidden under some sort of tape, but the part number gave it up). I have the extra cables to connect various outside cameras (not sure how that will come into use, but good to know).
On the two TVs, I confirmed that I can plug media into the USB ports and watch content. That alone made my discovery time worthwhile. Gilligan’s Island, on demand? Yes sir! Subtitles? Sometimes. There is also HDMI access for the laptops.
We still need to try out headphones (for those times when one wants to do something else). Ditto for the music drives. I will guess that everything works according to the rules of the game, and tomorrow I could turn the rig into a mobile disco. Or not. My age is showing.
Meanwhile, today I had to go and get a propane refill for the BBQ. All this good weather has meant that the outdoor kitchen has seen more use than all of last summer, and we’re still a month away from school opening. Not that the date actually means anything; I’m just accustomed to setting my calendar in sync with yellow bus traffic.
