Turning back the clock, for a few hours

posted in music |

Two hours along, with a continuous feed of EDM from Deadmau5. I’m confused; it all sounds good, but none of it will be remembered five minutes from now. And as for the dancing, I kept that strictly metaphysical, so I’m not even strained. Time to move the dial (OK, the YouTube channel) to something different.

Here we go. Suddenly, I’m back in the days before I could legally drive a car, and Grand Funk Railroad is up there doing stuff that requires a stack of Marshalls. I don’t have those, either, but I’m pretending that I’m “in the groove”. The songs haven’t aged a bit (just like me). I can sing along, and play air guitar and air bass and air drums. A performance for the eons.

Slip a bit deeper into the rabbit hole, with Gracie Slick and the JA. She could really sing! No autotune going on there. And if her pupils seem a bit small, that may be due to the number of years gone by in a flash. Hard to believe that I turned the clock back fifty years with no ill effects. Music is wonderful.

I could spend the rest of the evening, dabbling in the library, but supper is next on the agenda. Or maybe not. When the timetable can be derailed by a simple song, why worry about whether I actually chew and swallow. Besides, the dog will just pester me for his portion. I wonder what he thought about the music, all afternoon? So hard to read his reactions.
