Check the temperature while there

posted in environment, politics |

All I need, to change the tone about this place, is a different genre of music. Moved the “dial” on the Internet radio from classic celtic to classic blues; my dance is from a different time in my life.

Getting into the interview mode, for this evening. Our community group has a couple of scheduled moments, and I have to get the players and the rules clear before setting into my seat. Stress? Sure, but I have to remember that this is for the common good. I’m just an intervenor. And at the end of the evening, I get in the car and come back to my own life.

You know how I love checking temperatures. Received the alarm monitor for the new freezer, and now I can look at the little dial on the side of the box and be certain that everything inside is still frosty. No idea how the alarm setting works, but this is a brand new appliance. Should tough it out until I decode the tiny slip of paper in the shipping package. At least the device uses AAA batteries. No need for a pharmacy run at the most inopportune moment (say, mid summer, during a heat wave). I have every intention of never recording the temperature: there shouldn’t be fluctuations, right?

So much going on outside of my bubble. Riots in the Middle East. Marriage vows in the Kingdom. A referendum on reproductive rights in Old Country. Guess I’d better pay attention to results, or I might miss a beat.
