Avoiding a wobble
A special shout out to all those teachers who hint that learning goes on for a lifetime, not a semester. You’re right. Yesterday, I learned that those tiny spacer washer are not supposed to stay in place for the summer. Creates a wobble (in the wheel world). Now I know. Today, I learned how to paginate a large book. Good to know if you’re involved in any home brew publishing efforts. It’s pretty simple, actually. My software has a button labelled “add page numbers” and that exactly (all) it does. Doesn’t skip digits unless you request the option (as it creates a wobble in the publishing world).
My stress levels are back down to a manageable level, now that I have a numbered book that can be handed off to the printer any day now? Tomorrow? Don’t get pushy! The car has had an oil change, and the dog has a new tick collar, I have extra milk in the refrigerator and life is like a box of cherries.
So, what next? I’m still waiting for that new freezer to arrive, but there’s a space allocated in the garage; we decided that going up and down a long flight of stairs with armfuls of frozen groceries was nonsense. The lobsters are starting to show up in the markets, which means that the local community will be swimming in cash before long. I should get into door-to-door sales. Chocolates? Any excuse to meet more of the neighbours. Putting out a new driveway, three years ago, hasn’t had the penetration I had imagined. Perhaps with some almonds and dairy milk I can change the tone of things.
