Great personal mobility
I happened upon an editorial this afternoon (part of my quest to read everything) which pointed out something very important. There is no longer enough time in a day to keep up with the flood of new media. Here, I refer to movies, books, television… impossible to absorb all of it. The article went on to recommend adopting a strategy of selectivity. It doesn’t matter that you
- haven’t read those Harry Potter books [X]
- watched Game Of Thrones [X]
- or Breaking Bad? [X]
- failed to attend every meeting of the Star Wars movie club [X].
I take great solace in knowing that I am not alone.
This was a day of great mobility on my part. No, not upward; too late in my financial career for that. After deciding to see if the pharmacist would renew my prescription, given the lack of physician input, I headed into town. Set the Hav-A-Hart before leaving, just in case the seed bandits returned… and she did (the drops) and it did (squirrel moved to new neighbourhood, story at 11). Back home, with a few groceries in the mix, I felt quite satisfied with my morning.
Until the call came to go to town and receive what might be the final edited copy of a book that is “in progress”. No big deal. Meet at the coffee shop, without drinking coffee. I’m sure the franchisee was impressed with our use of the space.
Home again, until the message came that it was time to go to town. Are you counting here? Three times in one day! Potentially a new personal record.
