Got milk

posted in economy, environment |

Got milk. Nothing to do with the meme; I simply grabbed the dog as co-pilot and we went to the local store. And got milk. How simple is that? The dog takes these excursions as a highlight in his day. So do I.

Can’t claim to have done much else, other than noting that the fog has rolled in. Not worth getting a flashlight and wandering, as it brought a whole lot of damp along. If I didn’t fall in a hole in the back of a field, I’d come home chilled and wet. Think I’ll stay put.

Actually, that’s how I’m reacting to vacation photos posted by some of the siblings. Not sure I’m in need of seeing a big hotel in a place where I don’t know the people or the habits. The food in my kitchen is just fine, and no airplanes are required to get from here to there. Perhaps if I could take a ship, but the only port of call within reasonable distance from my front door has a direct passage to a place I used to call home. I remember.

In the news (for those of you who stop by just to see if I’m paying attention), the only detail that made me sit up was the story where the US intends to roll back gas consumption standards for cars. I don’t get this fever to undo stuff that makes sense. Did someone say “I want to pay more at the pumps, thank you very much”? Oh, right. The petroleum industry. Time to get a new horse.
