A clash of steel

posted in media, technology |

In the distance, a horse neighs. Within minutes, the clash of steel as a sword fight continues. I’m in a willing suspension of belief; why else would there be warriors in the very next room? Oh, right… a gaming console.

People have been gaming in my home for years and years. Boys. I learned to ignore the “zug-zug!” of some tiny, ambitious people living in a world that I couldn’t decode. What game was that? Diablo? Warcraft!! An orc peon!  I put a lot of effort into erasing those memories. Thankfully, WOW was kept in headphones, although I understand the music was wonderful. But, games.

Could be a fortunate side-effect of colourblindness. The screens require better eyesight than I have to offer. And so, with a carefree heart, I offer  the fighters, in the next room, my best wishes.

Because we were in the city, we tried out another restaurant with an Indian menu. This time around, the food was sweeter (not exactly a plus), but we might win a ticket to visit Nepal (highly unlikely). If we won, would I go?

I’ll cross that bridge at the appropriate moment. With the chances due west of unlikely, in the kingdom of not, I shan’t lose any sleep waiting for the call.

We didn’t get the freezing rain, figuring so prominently in last evening’s forecast. Sure, it was wet this afternoon (we had to drop off a hard drive along the way, and I was glad that I hadn’t unwrapped the shipping carton unduly). Not freezing, though. In fact, I’d best check the sump pump.
