Opting for the high road

posted in economy, politics |

I’m confused. What should I say? Just learned that I’m being “followed” on Twitter by someone famous. Will I be worthy?

Without dropping names, this person was ON STAGE, at Woodstock. Back before many of you were born, but a defining moment musically for people of my age. Going to have to up my game. Simple reports that the snowflurries are starting isn’t going to cut it, obviously. Ditto for any “dog meets fox” moments.

How to tell that your country is in need of new leadership? Watch what they do with the economy. Remember the fella that wants to bring manufacturing jobs back from overseas. Putting tariffs on steel and aluminum isn’t exactly how I would handle the file. Heck, even making the file will require access to steel; make it more expensive and the file may not get made. That holds true for so many other things. And don’t go with the tired argument that your country wants to get back into production of those metals… the real money is in the files. That’s just a tip.

MEC (my store; I’m a member of the co-op) has opted for the high road. They’re cutting ties with a large arms dealer. Not that MEC sold guns. I’m glad that I already purchased my bike helmet, to replace the one I purchased back when nobody even knew what they were. Yes, I used to get cat calls, as I made my way across the capital city of a particular Canadian province. My new one is gaudy orange, and nobody says anything!

My family tree database passed the 75K mark this evening.
