Random things to obsess about

posted in education |

Game on!  Even though the team didn’t win, last evening, they’re back throwing stones in the hope that some will stick. I’m torn between writing this post and watching the action; realistically, I’ll be done here before another end goes by, so there’s little stress.

I’ve been tasked with constructing a small wooden frame (to hold an art project during construction). Turns out that I have no extra wood around here, so I’m at a bit of a loss about my next step. Perhaps a trip to the hardware store, before the week ends. Patience to anyone waiting on my effort.

The dog is chewing down on yet another “treat”; a monotonous parade of various pigskin products. I wonder if there’s any flavor, or does the dog just depend on the texture?

The “new” weather guy is getting into his gig. I actually find the small capsules of information (during the evening news) to be informative. Less folksy humour than his predecessor, but this is about the most important news of the day.

The (Gold medal!) win in figure skating by our national couple seems to have hearts aflutter. I read some of the fan fiction on the ‘net; I was unaware that certain of my neighbours (in the national sense) look to ice dance for titillation. To each their own, I guess.

Guess I should pay attention to the Ontario legislature, where the election fever has made them all crazy. Does it really matter who gets to sit in the fancy seat?

My hard drive backup required most of the night to complete, but now I am safe from catastrophe. Right…
