Are you with me?

posted in education |

This evening, while waiting for my soup (cream of chicken) to cool (just a little), I happened to read an article. Life’s too short to waste precious moments while the steam clears. Anyhow, this article discussed the basics of journaling (which has nothing to do with taking a backup of the payroll system).

The article which mentioned the various ways one could use to keep the process “interesting”, might have had more or less than the number suggested in the title (I wasn’t there to do basic accounting, either). I felt that the author was in familiar territory, so I stayed my course. Happily, I arrived at the end of the epistle just as the soup started to smell really good (gospel!).

Here’s what made the article into something personal. I do write, every day. Usually (but not religiously) about the same time. I try to reach my own goal, without turning this into a rote exercise. In other words, just as every day is different, so should every post be. I invite you to peruse my history, if you doubt the veracity.

What’s I’ve found is that daily writing can be cathartic. If something really “bugs” me, I can get out the virtual swatter and try to remove a pest from my environment. Similarly, I can plan ahead (although that rarely happens, to be truthful). Now that “every day is Saturday”, this is the one place where I can try and establish a history for those that follow. Are you with me, kids?
