Locked the door
I’ve locked the back door. Consider this to be risk reduction, after that red sky this morning, According to the weather people, there’s a bomb headed in this direction… a little to the west, but still. Can’t be too careful, right?
I keep an eye on the climate. That long stretch to seaward invites the wind, it seems. Hate to be all bedded down, and have to get up to close a door that had come unlatched. Easier to lock up now and wait for the noise to rise. Right now, all is calm. Cloudless sky. A risen moon. And a promise of high winds and rain, overnight.
Perhaps the sky is just reminding me (and my world) that tomorrow the special investigations in the US are due to get stormy, as well. The first indictments, according to the talking heads. Given the letdown we all had from the mangled release of the JFK files (some, redacted, despite a law that said it was time to draw back the heavy drapes), the public is ready for a new twist on how leaders aren’t always right. No sense getting up early, unless the other storm breaks. The all news all the time channels will have the story when it’s time.
Did my due diligence around the house. Laundry, Dysoning, refilling the seed thingies. Must be prepared. And by the time Hallowe’en arrives, there might be a plan involving candy – I hope. I threw away the box of Lifesavers that had been kept in anticipation from a year ago.
