Look forward to years of driving in circles.

posted in technology |

The little green machine came home this afternoon. What with the service up to date, we can look forward to years of driving in circles!

Actually, a lot did get done. The blades (we have a deck model) have been sharpened. The plugs are new. There’s fresh oil where oil counts, and fresh filters on the frontiers. The bolts that hold everything together have been torqued, and there’s grease in, on and around the bearings. I was told that it feels like we got power steering. All good. The beast is at the 300 hour point in its life; young for a green machine and near the end of the line for some of the competition. You know, the red and the blue machines. Now to run the gas tank dry and call it the end of the season.

The nation knew it was going to happen, but the announcement that Gord Downie has passed still caught many by surprise.

“I should see your face, and you should see mine”. That quote might come back to haunt the premier of Quebec. You know, if he ever rides the city bus… I actually did see him, up close, back before he was elected. He was just a guy near my favourite ATM in Quebec City. How times have changed, eh?

Also in Quebec City; earlier this weekend, a drone bumped into an airplane coming in to land at the airport. Come on, dronie. You just had to wait for a split second and the need to collide would have passed. You can hover, right?
