She did just fine
Here on the Island, we take our evening news seriously. The on-air personalities are famous, and when the two main faces decided to retire several months back, there was a lot of trepidation. The new “chair” started work this evening; we can all go back to living on the edge of our couches, waiting for the latest stories. She did just fine.
Out in the larger world, Glen Campbell has passed on. At the age of 81, not unexpected. Hard to find people of a certain age (mine) that don’t recognize the name and the voice. I’m not sure I knew what a “lineman” did, before his song. No, nothing to do with hockey or drafting.
My BBQ ran out of gas, just after lunch. Thanks to the convenient exchange system now found at places all over, I was able to turn my empty cylinder into a full one with little stress and only a couple of those plastic bills. Good for the rest of the summer.
Mind you, if we get into one of those SHTF scenarios, a 20 lb tank isn’t going to cut it, long term. The sabre rattling south of here continues, with a promise to cause serious hurt on the crazy man in Korea. Coming from the crazy man in USA, that’s enough to raise my blood pressure a notch or two. I’d like to finish out my life in relative peace (not in relative war). Suddenly, the right to BBQ takes on a whole different degree of importance.
Did I mention that Portugese Man’o’war (not exactly jellyfish, but close enough) have been sighted south of here?
