Keenly aware of traffic
Perhaps living in the country has changed my perception of “season change”, but there is no doubt that we’re rolling into the summer side of life. More familiar faces at the Trivia evening. (Yes, our team won, again.) The strawberry plants in bloom. The return of my neighbour from down at the bottom of the hill, back from wherever folks go to avoid winter weather. All the signs point to a need for a beach day in my life.
I’m also keenly aware of traffic noises. In particular, the ferry boat. Don’t laugh; not every day is foggy, but the vibration from those big marine engines is louder than the battling hummingbirds outside my kitchen window. This afternoon, I noted the transit. A little later than usual, but hey. Ten minutes later, I noted the transit (going in the opposite direction). Between here and the point, the ferry had turned completely around (no fog to blame). I checked the radio logs and sure enough: 180 degree difference. I’ll not know the why, but I do know the when and the where.
Trying hard to think if anything else happened through today. I heard (sic) from all of the kids. That’s to be noted. The dog pretended to understand when I told him a story (that’s less to be noted and more to be classified as “he talks to his dog”). Oh, and I still haven’t made supper, despite the approach of sunset. This is a “planting day” for the garden addict. I just watch and wait.
