Solid deck chairs, at last

posted in technology |

We live a long way from town. I was unsure, but townies have told me, so it must be so. Anyhow, if word comes that a delivery will be made, I set the mental clock to “in late afternoon”. The principle hasn’t failed me yet. Our awaited deck furniture came in a big truck, just before suppertime. Familiar driver; he’s “been up here” before. And now, even if the winds pick up, we have a table and chairs that will stay in place. If I announce that the winds took them away, look for a tornado report in the previous paragraph.

Of course, knowing that the delivery would be later in the day gave me free rein to make a trip to town. For me, it’s not as far as for anyone coming the other way. On today’s list, a specific part for the lawn tractor. I’d shopped online, but decided to leave my money with a local merchant. After all, he might sell me what I want, rather than what I thought I wanted. Took the motor info along, and his lookup aligned perfectly with mine. An ignition coil is sitting here on the table, in a box. I also purchased an oil filter wrench as it seems to be a necessity, not a luxury.

One small thing: I have “zero experience” when it comes to small motor tinkering. Those YouTube videos just became mandatory viewing rather than just something for a moment of idle curiosity. I can use a wrench, and as long as I turn the motor off before engaging fingers, all should go well. Right? The learning curve is steep, but only on the way in.
