Will he notice the difference?
The new vehicle has the same license plate as its predecessor. Exactly the same. Actually, the same physical plate, with a new ad surround. Convenient for all involved. Or the DMV, at a minimum. Does it make it easier to remember? Nope. When I need to report the random combination of letters and numbers, I will go to the back and eyeball my answer.
There has been some conversation about whether the dog will know we have changed rigs. Same sleeping bags. Same sliding door on the side. Same license plate. I think he will be able to tell. Old, not stupid. And I suspect that his ability to read is keeping us fooled. He just remembers the order.
With good reason, I have not referenced the new vehicle by colour. Turns out that a certain green bird we have had around the feeders the last while is actually orange. Perception. What if I told the dog that the new rig, parked in exactly the same place as before, is one tint, and got it wrong. Confusion could pursue. Instead, we will lead him out, on a leash, and then pretend that all is as before.
I am also anxious to try my new seat. Will it be comfortable or will I need to buy one of those seat covers with wooden balls. As for the windows, more screens arrive every day. Actually window covers.
Is a screen not a cover? Philosophical question. I am told there are too many cup holders. How many drinks do I need? Can I fill one with peanuts?
