Family Consultation
Just a detail, but it seems that the snow is all gone. I think. Actually, there might be small traces along the edge of the woods, but as I said, a detail.
The country is waiting, with bated breath, to learn if the largest public service strike in our history will happen. Governments care much less about such things than they do when a railroad, or a seaway hit pause. Follow the money.
After several days of patience, the heritage parcel has been opened. Unpacked. It contains a burial plaque going back a full 15o years, and it proves (to me) that I have been spelling my family name correctly. That is not a given, as anyone studying family history can attest. We will have to choose the where and how to display the package contents. My own take is that there will not be another, so I will not have to juggle. And the choice of who will inherit can wait a bit longer.
Being the first actual historical object I have ever received, I will not jump to a quick solution. History should be savoured. I have not sent word to my siblings, for fear of starting a lengthy family dispute (not really). Perhaps I should seek a second opinion. Or conduct a straw poll.
