Cleared for action
Yesterday I cleared the deck. Singular. This is not a lost Hornblower story, and action is relative. Locally, winter is not quite over. New snow. Heavy snow, because in spring that is the game. Our deck can with stand reasonable loading, but I do not want to press my luck. Now, things are clear, and with the afternoon sun you can imagine an early spring.
For anyone who wonders when winter ends, the answer is when it decides. All the wishing and hoping have no effect on how precipitation comes. We still have solid snow cover, and that is just the nature of things.
We also had some Genny, overnight. The local utility decides when preventative repairs are required, and the middle of the night wins. I mean, most of the clientele are in bed, and might not even realize that the lights are off for serious reasons. I just look at this kind of thing as a stress test for our system. Better now than in the middle of a post tropical storm, right?
Planning is underway for summer visitors. Schedules and room strategies. Having several months mean that this is a peaceful way to imagine company. When you go for eleven months at a stretch without visitors, you want them to be treated properly.
The dog has developed a personal crisis. Liquid in the ear flap. A bruise, according to online sources. He does not seem to be in pain, so the eventual vet visit will be done in an orderly fashion. We are also living with a kitchen appliance that works part of the time. Makes cooking into a game.
