Blank slate
Well, that was disconcerting. About this time of day, I try to “plant” a thought seed, which will grown into the blog post of the day. I would start, close my eyes and… gone. Almost like I had turned off a mental TV set. Open my eye, and I could start again. Albeit, with no recall of the original idea. Maybe I actually need a nap.
The day has been ordinary. Bright. And I did watch some unrelated video content. Can’t remember any of that, either. Something about a state fair.
Lets go off in a different direction. I was downstairs, earlier, noodling at the piano. Could not see much, but a keyboard is just a blank slate for musical ideas. Muscle memory serves me well, and I can usually take a melody through to a conclusion. Good thing I am only trying to entertain myself. No aspirations to convert performance here. I wonder if the same rules would apply, if I took out a different instrument. Flute. Violin. Must try this at the earliest opportunity.
I actually miss being able to see well. Right now, I am typing without seeing what I type, which will leave a mess of spelling errors for someone else to deduce. Someone mentioned that computers can now decode spoken text; if I can figure out the code for punctuation, that might be fun. Or, I could repair the back lighting on my laptop keyboard, to prevent so many false starts. Yes, I can still feel that little bump on the home row keys, but I sometimes overshoot.
