Wandering the lower acre
Finding new ways to do old jobs; my current learning curve.
First up, better donair meat. I like my way, but I will watch others, because sometimes an insight makes all the difference. I had a very labour intensive strategy, using a food processor to turn fatty hamburger into a rough slurry befor baking. Get something akin to those large lumps on a vertical spit, for slicing. There are other techniques. I watched someone spend a lot of time rolling out the meat and then layering pieces on an oven sheet. I watched, but I am not convinced. Keeping the fat to flesh ratio is important. Right now, I would have to finish off whatever I prepared by myself, and I don’t want to eat grounmd beef continually. Or continuosly.
Second round: getting tricks for stealth camping on city streets. We crossed the continent, in two directions. Did almost no boondocking, ecasuse shy. I’m now starting to believe that it really doesn’t matter. If you stop, and then go, by the time the aythirities respond to a complaint, you are elsewhere.
There are many ways to hide your intentions from the public. Not necessary to paint your windows black, or put fake signs on the sides. Something to be said for simply going to bed at dusk and rising at dawn. To be fair, javing a big dog on board will add a challenge. I have all winter to consider strategies, and I don’t have to go to “the nation’s capital”,
Out for a brief wander around the “lower acre”. The snow cover is spotty, with no storms in view. Could be another green solstice, locally.
