For supper, burgers. With some fresh tomatos, sourced just outside our front door. Yes. The harvest window is still open. Actually, my weather confusion is pronounced. The temperature up to 17C this afternoon. The feeders are full of birds (seed, as a bed layer). There are rumours that the Deere will need to do some circles. No pretty yellow flowers, but I didn’t do a deep search, so perhaps. People wandering along the beach. This is not the climate of my youth.

My day was spent with two dogs. Close friends, now. No combat for kibble, but I might need to keep the cheese tray out of sight.
In ON, a sudden decision to invoke the “non obstat” clause, to shut down a strike in the education sector. The minister with his “think of the children” lament strikes a false chord with anyone in that sector. Not my circus, not my monkeys. Sometimes you have to point a finger.
Locally… we have nothing happening. Supposed to be municipal elections, at the first of next week, but the chatter is inaudible. We “acclaimed” our mayor, and the only battle is a half-heated attempt to fill the remaining seats at the table. Until the next “big” elections, be it provincial or federal, life will continue. I know, all levels are important, but the disputes over where someone puts the chicken shed are not nearly as interesting. What? Someone has hens? Do they have fresh eggs available? I suppose that if my near neighbour got into milk delivery, I might care. But hens?
