Testing our artisanal talents
Today, I had a blueberry, grown here on the property. Last month, I had a strawberry. Note the pointed use of the singular. We’re starting a limited production, and I expect the jam to be spectacular, albeit in limited quantity.
The neighbour from down below has arrived. For the first time in two years. No word on how long the stay will be.
I was outside for coffee, on the deck. Some bird kept shouting: “Jay Jay Jay”. Might be an attempt to introduce itself. What pronouns do you use with your feathered friends? And do they always shout? Maybe it is a cultural thing.
Went deep into the musical archives, and came up with something from the turn of the century. Lynda Thalie. The music is timeless, actually. I just need to start learning Arabic. Never too late. Especially now that we have modern technology available; Duolingo.
That piece of land, just up the road, has a new owner. No, not my son. Actually, the son of a friend. I have no idea what the long term plan might be. He’s young, and getting a piece of land is a good start to whatever. I didn’t need more land, but the price was right (less than 50K).
We also had some pizza. Home style and home made. Definitely something to do often, going forward. I know, frozen is OK, but this was real. Prepared on that stone in the oven. We are such artisans.
I have been sharing musical hints with the kids. Instrumental ideas, in case they are in a pawn shop and see something that really should live here. That’s how we get cool stuff in the basement.
