It ain’t over
If you work in an office, you quickly learn that some behavior is unacceptable. Not going to create a list of caveats, but one involves office property. You might get away with the occasional pen, or a stapler. When you take your preferred chair home, be prepared to explain why you stand around so much. And as for fifteen boxes, filled with secret documents (so secret, they cannot be listed), expect that things will go badly.
The office might ash you to bring your homework back. Sounds fair. In another time and place, the management might call in the forces of law and order, to raid your home and break into the safe. Just saying.
I love when a precedent involves a (former) president. Last evening, south of here, the FBI came ‘a knockin’. No idea if they carried Tommy guns (I have watched too many old movies). But, there was the warrant, and the doors did open. I really want to see the movie version.
As you can guess, not everyone was impressed. The main character complained about the police opening his safe. The media mentioned “abuse of power”. The rest of us murmured “about bloody time” and went back to Tommy gun fantasies.
I did mention precedent. This is the first time that the FBI has had to raid the home of a former president. Who wasn’t home, as he had a previous (court) date. And for the crazies that want to rush in and right the pendulum of justice, pause for a moment. This ain’t over, yet.
