No shock aand awe this time
One of my neighbours is curious… about my solar generator. That big battery box, that travels well in the RV, but that requires major lifting on my part when I have to move it from here to there. Locally, folks tend to favour noisy boxes with a thirst for petrol. My choice took me down a different route. The sun is free, albeit prone to turning off at night. But, with sufficient batteries, you can move bast that minor inconvenience.
I have not bothered to memorize the spec sheet, given that we’ve aleady made our purchase. I think my righ is good for about 3000 w/hr. Enough to get us through a long weekend in a primitive campsite. My guess is that the neighbour is someone that wants to know what is out there, and we’re all intrigued by solar panels, if they provide utility. I think my setup does just that, and the various reviews on the net echo that sentiment. I just hope the neighbour doesn’t mind coming inside to see, because I hate moving it around.
We had a forecast from all the right sources, telling us that we could have some shock and awe this afternoon. Thunder and associated lights. As it turned out, we had nothing. That’s a good thing, when there could have been some heavy hail. It’s just… it would have been something to witness. I could have had a war story about the big bang of ’22. Instead, I’ll go back to waiting. Hey, summer hasn’t started. Lots of opportunity. No intentions of moving to FL, where I Iear they get storms every afternoon. Here, not even every year. Some day, I want to get photos of a lightning bolt. One photo.
