Another day, cheaply spent
Today’s great idea didn’t last long. With a fresh cup of coffee, and sun, sea and sky aligned, I decided that I should sit outside. On the deck. Like in some image from Instagram. Getting outside was simple.
And then I realized that it wasn’t quite warm enough for someone dressed for summer success. A nasty nip from the breeze. Deck chairs that were all clean and wet. Morning dew, at a guess. I stood around just long enough to decide that there were more comfortable places to have that coffee.
With that, I went for Plan B. Read the news from Twitter, followed by the stream of consciousness from my selection of late night TV excerpts, as showcased on YouTube. My life is low maintenance.
The rest of the day just got away from me. When I haven’t planned, and I don’t watch the clock, I find that darkness creeps up on me. It’s not dark yet, per se, but I know how the system works. First, I turn on a few light, and then the sun sets. Almost on schedule. I’ll try to do “better”, tomorrow.
Now, what did you do, today? Go ahead, amaze me (pr amuse me). Did you solve a crisis? Provoke a crisis? Did you send anyone a virus, through social media? Me neither/ We should form a club, or at least think about the idea. Go ahead. Do the dishes. That’s a socially acceptable alternative to saving the world. At least, read your email inbox. It’s the little things that make the world a better place. Perhaps you could keep your blog up to date. Cheap comedy for everyone else.
