Just learned a new gesture

posted in Uncategorized |

So many things depend on contextual clues. I forwarded a photo of myself, in a group, to one of my sons.He was unable to identify me. Context: the photo was more than a half-century old, in shades of gray. And we all had similar hair styles. I recognized me, but I had the “know myself” part. And I was there, on the day in question. Son had none of those advantages. Context.

At supper, I have new challenges. A small potato with skin, and a small tomato are similar (the fork does the hardness test). It has been noted that I have to chase foods around. Context.

I don’t have a place to fit the following story, so this is my choice. The victim as covered in bruises. The cause of death was poison. As the report summarized, the victim obviously didn’t what to take the poison. Moving along.

Last evening, I found out that the keypad on the iPad has shrunk. Signifcantly. I can hande small, but not tiny. Fat fingertips, etc. It took until late today for me to learn about “two finger pinch” gestures. Seems obvious, now that I know, but I was almost to the point of learning how to dictate my wishes, in a calm voice. Glad that option is now unnecessary.

Hey, I like solving puzzles, and my life now has a few more to keep me entertained. That’s a plus.

Now back to figuring out how I’m going to renew my musicality. Some more challenging moments in store, for anyone in the house. And wait until I get the amplifier plugged in.

The sump pump is working again. I think my shopping for a replacement may have scared it back to a useful state. More research needed. If my life was supposed to become more interesting, it has. And if I am spotted wandering around, talking to myself, consider my behaviour as the “new normal” around here. If only the dog would talk to me. And ignore the foxes.
