I am not particularly superstitious. No problem with breaking mirrors (small, cheap ones). Willing to let that black cat meander across my path (or dash, it it works better). But, let the record show that I lack faith in the manufacturers of my home appliances. I am apprehensive, with a capital A. Because I’m too cheap to want to buy new ones, when the need hasn’t been presented.

History is meant to be shared. Especially family history. What could be sadder than a rooomful of documents, hidden from the eoeys of everyone else? Including, I imagine, those concerned by reason of consanguinity.

Even though I have moved along, from the scene of the story, I still follow the politics of places I used to live. I mean, politics is akin to the flavour of your drinking water. Often the cause.

I just read about a house in the GTO (greater Toronto) area that sold, over the asking price, for close to a million. No news here, you say. To which I have to respond “but it was filled with garbage, and the windows and doors were boarded up”. OK, a case for the local fire marshal.

Look, a new rig! In the field, this evening, the biggest tricycle I’ve ever see. Special machine, tasked with spreading lime before the winter begins. And the job was over and done before we understood the implications. There’s going to be another crop, of something, next year. Else, why spend money on extras. Now we wait for the new growth, to discover what will be our “farm view” in ’22. Just the anticipation of watching something novel (and amazing) spring forth already takes the edge off a winter that hasn’t started.

As we move through the latest “red letter”question season, there are some odd glitches in the matrix. While the tiny fish in the system get knocked out of their jobs, or at a least face suspension until they can prove that they’ve been jabbed, some real differences appear, as we climb the salary ladder.

Some parts of the TV metaverse have changed from back when I was a young buck. Right now, in the background, a new series called “The Morning Show” (or by it’s alternate title “Holy F-Bomb Batman!”) I had not imagined that the sweet young thing from “Friends”, Rachel, had such a potty mouth. My money would have been on Feebs.
