Potentially, potatoes
For a farmer, the day that your crop has ben planted is a significant one. It also is a sign of hope. Long before that first rainfall, the belief that everything is going to be OK exists. I look at the field below here, and I realize that in just a few months, there’ll be enough potatoes to get me through the next winter. All this, from a couple of afternoon’s worth of labour.
